Fr. Jijo Kandamkulathy, a Claretian missionary from China visited our school for an interaction with the students of classes 5 and 6. Fr. Jijo gave a detailed description about the Chinese Lantern Festival, its origin and the way of celebrating it. The vibrant students showed their eagerness and curiosity in knowing more about the Chinese celebrations. The session was highly informative and lively. It was an insight for the children which helped them to knock on the door of various international cultures.
Light symbolizes divine glow that removes darkness. It gives pleasure and enthusiasm in our lives. Students of classes V and VI received that pleasure and enthusiasm when they were involved in the activity of making different types of lamps and lanterns and finally lighting the lantern and releasing it in to the air. They gathered in the school ground at 8.00 pm for a get together and lit the lantern and released it. It was an exciting activity cum entertainment for the whole crowd. All the lanterns flew up like stars lighting the dark night into a beautiful smiling night.
